MDM in SCCM 2012 R2 - Extend Windows Intune trial

Back to ConfigMgr main menu

Back to MDM Menu

You can create a Windows Intune trial subscription for 30 days here

Previously, if you wanted to extend this trial you had to enlist the help of your Microsoft account manager and this was a bit of a process. Customers can now do this on their own. You can extend your trial by a further 60 days by calling customer support  (you have to extend 30 and a further 30 - not 60 together). You must have global administrator access to your portal to verify your identity.

Edit 24th November 2014

Find your local number for Intune support here

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-US/jj839713.aspx

(((((Find your local CSS telephone number here

http://support.microsoft.com/gp/customer-service-phone-numbers/en-ie )))))

Under special circumstances you may be able to extend past the 90 days but this will not be the norm.

  1. Hi Gerry ! - I tried calling CSS today to extend my Intune trail. But they said they are not aware of any of these policies. Are you aware of any technet or microsoft url where this is documented ? Or do you have any other tips ?

    Regards

    1. Hi Anoop. I was given the tip by the Microsoft Ireland chap with the responsibility for EMS but I haven't seen it documented. I called and was able to extend the trial for a large financial institution that were undergoing a POC. There was no issue. This was an Intune trial which was associated with an existing tenancy (already full of live services). Is this the difference?

  2. Hi Gerry ! - Thank you for the reply. This is "full" trial version, there is no existing tenant associated with this. I'm using onmicrosoft.com.

    1. That may be the problem Anoop. I've sent an email to my MS contact looking for clarification. I'll let you know when he responds.

    2. Hi Anoop. I've edited the post above to include the numbers for Intune support (as opposed to CSS). I'm told that you should still be able to extend but by using the telephone numbers above.

  3. Hi Gerry ! - Thank you for the new link. However, the link doesn't have any information whether the extension is possible or not.
