ConfigMgr 2012 / SCCM 2012 Migration - Post Migration Steps

Back to Migration menu

Back to ConfigMgr 2012 menu

You've done a lot of work and have migrated your site servers, DPs, clients and content from the Config Mgr 2007 site. You can now sit back and be very pleased with yourself - AFTER you carry out a few post-migration steps.

1. Remove Source Hierarchy (see steps below)

2. Remove any 2007 objects from System Management container  - be careful here, just delete objects with old CM07 Site Codes (Primary or Secondary)

3. Uninstall Config Mgr 2007 Primary Site Server and decommission the server. You do this from Programs & Features (or Add/Remove Programs) in Control Panel.

Remove Source Hierarchy

Navigate to Administration > Migration > Source Hierarchy

Right click on the Config Mgr 07 hierarchy and select "Stop Gathering Now".

Now select "Clean Up Migration Data" on the ribbon above.

The "Clean Up Migration Data" wizard commences, shows us our Source Hierarchy and tells us that we must "stop data gathering". We've already done that. Click OK.

Select "Yes" to delete the Migration history

The reference to the Config Mgr 07 site has now been deleted
